Welcome to SKG Psychology!
My mission is to help people navigate life's challenges from the inside out. I want to help you get to the root of the issue to create lasting change. I do this by creating a casual yet professional environment that allows my clients to open up and be honest - this is when the magic really happens.
Whatever it is that brought you here - I am glad you made it!

“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.”
-Carl Rogers
Hi! I'm Stefanie -
a Registered Psychologist and it's a pleasure to meet you! I completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at McGill University in 2018. I have since had the privilege of working with individuals in academic and private practice settings.
I love working with people to help them navigate through the many challenges that life can throw our way.
I strongly believe in evidence based approaches and draw from my training and experience to customize a therapy experience that is right for you.
I value your input and expertise as a client and aim to create a relationship that is collaborative, authentic, and honest.
Who Can Benefit From Therapy?
Maybe I am biased, but I strongly believe that everyone can benefit from therapy.
I have experience helping people with a variety of concerns, such as trauma, OCD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, boundaries, assertiveness, family of origin, career challenges, and relationship issues.
So, whether you have it mostly together, or not at all - I’m here to help.
An Integrative Approach to Therapy
I use an integrative approach, which means that I draw from several different theories and approaches. Each person has unique goals and we can work together to determine the right approach for you.
A few of these approaches are:
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing or EMDR is an exposure based therapy initially designed to treat trauma.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative Therapy helps people see issues as something external to them rather than intrinsic deficits.
Emotion Focused Therapy
Emotion Focused Therapy or EFT works to help you accurately identify and work through hard emotions.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or CBT targets unhelpful thinking patterns with the goal to replace them with more helpful ones.
Still wondering if we’d make a good fit?
FAQs
-
Before your first session, we can have a 20 minute consultation to discuss your concerns and goals and ensure we are a good fit. If that’s the case, I will ask you to fill out some paperwork (don't worry, it's all online!).
In the first session, I will likely ask a lot of questions to get to know you better and understand your story and your history.
We will spend the following sessions working towards your goals and creating the change you wish to see.
I seek to create a casual yet professional environment and I want you to feel comfortable being open and honest. This is a chance to tell your story, feel heard, and possibly see things in a different way.
